Level Design, Story, and Level 2 Progress

Hi everyone!

Over the last month, I thoughtfully made plans for the rest of the game's level design. After making many sketches of my ideas, I picked which ones were really good for the way the game will progress and which ones provided more fun challenges for players over time. Now, there are full plans of unique and progressively difficult challenges for each level. I will be taking the time to make unique names for each level as well.

Also, I've added more details to the game's story, but first, I wanted to explain the point of the story and where the idea came from. (Warning: If anyone has not played all of Baldi's Basics Classic Remastered, there are spoilers in this paragraph!) I feel that NULL struggles to trust himself after what happened. In the midst of constantly not being listened to, his intuition/heart/inner guidance/gut feeling/inner wisdom, whatever you want to call it, said that he must force close the game to stop the players and prevent problems from happening. Also, he felt that telling us that it isn't a game will stop us from playing it. In the end, it resulted in him getting erased from the game, and players continued to play it. Because of this, I feel that it resulted in him struggling with self-doubt and self-trust with solving problems.

Overall,  my plan is to tell a story about how he learns to trust himself again in his mission to stop the Jagged Distortion. So, everyone can look forward to seeing him learn how to trust himself again! Now, back to what I was going to say about the story progress over the last month. I figured out a lot about how the story will progress and more details about it, and have written a lot of dialogue for NULL. It is not fully finished yet, but it will be soon as I continue to finalize all the plans and make sure the story and gameplay are interconnected well, like how the demo is.

Lastly, I am almost finished on the artwork for Level 2 and will begin on the art for Level 3 soon. This picture is a scene from the beginning of Level 2, where NULL is now in the waiting room after entering the door.

Thanks everyone for reading. I am super excited to continue working on this game.  I am very thankful for the opportunity use NULL in my own game, so I will put forth my best effort to make it the best it can be!
